I remember reading a blog post years ago where someone said that mobile devices were going to become our tricorders. I wish I could remember who said that because it really stuck with me.
Every time Android or iOS come out with a new version, I’m more interested in what types of input they have. It is the inputs that make the devices unique. I remember when I came up with the idea for Ear Spy . . . I was not thinking about some little social media tricks. I was trying to think of how to use feature of the phone to improve your life.

I’m constantly trying to think of what kind of applications we can make with these few components. And I hope that more “inputs” are being thought of.
One day I want to be able to scan for life forms like on Star Trek. Impractical, you say? What if you pull up to a busy shopping mall and can scan for life signs with your car. “Too busy, let’s move on.”
We don’t need more social media apps, we need more imagination in hardware design.
I want my tricorder.
