App development team leaders believe that they are under excessive pressure to design, develop and test apps in an unfeasible amount of time. Testplant, a provider of digital automation intelligence system revealed that 42% of these app development team leaders are from the US and UK.
According to Testplant’s research, which was conducted a survey of more than 750 development team leaders, 36% feel they are not given enough time to test the apps before deployment. 60% said the pressure comes most within the company rather than their competitors. And 49% said that they issued apps before they go through proper testing.
John Bates, CEO of Testplant, said: “Companies are struggling to keep up with the pace of digitalization. There will be a quality toll unless businesses see the imperative to completely rethink their traditional development processes. And eventually move towards more automated, intelligent solutions and tools.”
Moreover, 50% said that their company will develop apps with IoT components. More than half said they would look into AI (artificial intelligence) and 62% said they will increase the number of apps deploying machine learning and components with deep learning. These are mostly their targets over the next year.
If given more time, 81% of the respondents said that their deployed apps would have a greater impact on their business. However, 56% said the use of outdated techniques and tools is holding them back from meeting the demands of the digital world.
