'If your not part of this global services revolution, you will lose competitive advantage through missed cost savings, driven by productivity improvements as well as lower wage rates, and, probably more significantly, through poorer quality.'

What's This India Business? Page 31

One of the biggest concerns of all of our clients concerns protecting their intellectual property. The most common fear is that an outsourcing company on the other side of the world would steal their ideas, steal client data, or build back-doors into the application they are working on. Although in most cases these concerns are unfounded, we appreciate that no one wants to send their projects to companies half way around the world with no reassurance that their intellectual property will be protected.

To ensure that your intellectual property is protected, Overpass takes several steps.

Your identity is kept anonymous.
Overpass will never give your name out to any of our providers. As far as our subcontractors are concerned, your project is a project for Overpass. Your company will be known to the providers as BrandX. In all interactions and collaboration with developers, you will be known as Mr (or Mrs.) X. At the end of the project, your application will be re-skinned with your identity by Overpass.

All of our developers sign Non-Disclosure Agreements.
NDAs are required of all of our service providers. Any breech of this agreement means they will be removed from the Overpass Network and can work on no future projects from us.

A project is distributed so no one sees the entire project
Wherever possible, Overpass will divide the project into chunks where no one developer will see all of the source code at one time. For example, one developer can work on administrative pages while another works on the client-facing pages.

Overpass developers check for secret “back-door” hacks in your application
All code will be quality checked by Overpass for security.

Live data is never sent beyond Overpass.
Whenever Overpass is exposed to live customer data, that data will be obfuscated before being sent onto subcontractors. If using live data is necessary for testing, that testing will be done by Overpass only.
